Dramatic Kitchen Lighting

 Yummer.

I believe it became corn muffins or pumpkin muffins or something like that, thanks to Bubber and the Ju-Ju Pup.

Brontosaurus bike bell!

Katie gave me this bike bell. My heart was so glad. Then a few days later she fixed my bike light. My bike was so glad.

Harvard Museum of Natural History

The morning was a little rainy/overcast, so my friend Foffie and I went to this awesome museum. It was the perfect activity for a morning. The museum was not too big, so you felt like you got to see everything without getting overwhelmed or worn out, and the displays were very intricate and so beautifully arranged.

First stop: handmade glass flowers.

I liked these cross-sections particularly.

Great mammals.

Do you see what I see?

Wha Wou? ha Wou?

Not quite sure which it is. But really all you need to know is that it's a crepe, filled with chocolate, wrapped in cellophane. Just warm it up and eat. Rachy discovered these last night as we were shopping for a dinner ingredient.

They are actually pretty good, all things considered.

Blueberries

There was a point when these were in season and pretty cheap that I was eating several pints a week.

I promise I'll start posting other things BESIDE produce soon.

Amazing Sunlight

So...
I left that drawer with the onions out on the floor overnight (and therefore all day today while I was at work). You will never believe what a little sunlight will do. And seriously, this is a LITTLE sunlight. Very indirect.

Look at them.

Brilliant green. Like magic. How can anyone not love the sun?

Vegetables that are every color of the rainbow.

Well, except for blue, I guess. Thank god for that happy spoon. Actually, thank Lauren S (WHO IS COMING NEXT WEEK), for giving it to me.

I had it with brown pasta and our favorite fake Italian sausage. Vegetables include summer squash, zucchini, and some kind of spicy red pepper from my parents' garden. YESSSSS.

Unfortunately something RILL WEIRD happened to the onions in the refrigerator.

Farm Fresh

Radiant.

She loved it like it was her own child.

Weeds

I don't make a habit of photographing flowers. Unless they are well-dead, or weeds, I guess.

I like this girl in the background.

Who knew weeds could be so pretty?

Queen Anne's Lace.

Field Work

Friday I drove across the state to take some measurements and pictures of transit vehicles. And also photograph this pretty Dig Safe paint:

And by "pretty" of course I mean "brightly colored."

The Day My Little Brother Gave Birth

He is literally about to pop here, as you can see.

Nice glove.

The proud new father...

This baby caterpillar.

Katie's joy, discovered at Thoreau's pond. Sometimes my camera is just more handy.

Dear Katie, I found them!

And these ones are for you. <3

Summer Solstice

One of my strongest and most recent joys was this night of celebration and sharing and love. There are few things better than rejoicing in the wonder of summer while dancing, twirling, and giggling the length of a dock, lighted by little candles or flashlights when the wind would not hold the flames still.
