Art, Vandalism, or Helpful Co-Laundry-User?

I was going through my photos and came across this little treasure, from the old apartment building:

(Laundry was in the basement).

'Tis the Season

May or may not have ridden my bicycle to procure this.

Do you like how the camera angle makes it seem taller?

Lovely colors

Yes I strung popcorn onto thread.

Artsy.

Signs of the Times: Boston

This is the fourth (and last) of the series. While Brighton is technically part of Boston, I consider downtown Boston to be an entirely different beast (at the very least, cost of living is somewhat different!). I worked in Boston, I lived in Brighton. That's just how I roll.

This is the kind of protection the government offers. Top of the line, baby.

I took this picture at work. That's right. These are the kinds of people I work with. Oh, scientists.

After I took this picture, a big gust of wind blew up from the grate below me. If I hadn't been wearing pants under my dress as I am sometimes wont to do, I would have flashed the construction workers eating lunch behind me.

Signs of the Times: Cambridge

This is part three. A lot of my place-memories in Cambridge are now colored by sadness. However, these photos are some of my favorites and I couldn't very well leave them out, though looking at them is bittersweet.

A bumper sticker on a car I passed every day on my way to work and I would wish my "wild and free" was closer to the surface.

Does this seem like a threat to anyone else?

In Cambridge, household rubbish is love. But forbidden.

This poster was hung in the window of my favorite frozen yogurt shop, and seemed to be practically written for me. Done and DONE, bitches!

Signs of the Times: Belmont

This is part two of the series. Though Belmont is where I grew up and is scarcely five miles away from where I live, I don't spend that much time there anymore. I did get a chance to have a picnic lunch there recently with some dear friends. While they read and dozed, I investigated our environs and found out more about where we'd situated ourselves.

There's also no shortage of quality entertainment.

How ever did I leave?

Signs of the Times: Brighton

This is the first of a four part series that includes all the pictures of signs that I've seen in the four communities in which I spend the most time. If you keep your eyes open, you can see nifty little gems all over the place.

Sometimes they're spray painted on the sidewalk. I love the yellow-purple contrast. Yes, it meant I had to go barefoot in Brighton for those brief minutes, but it was so worth it.

One night, I went out late at night and entered the Twilight Zone.

Before we moved out of Brighton, Katie and I went for a walk under the guise of doing some "night photography". We ended up bearing our souls to each other. I treasure the time that we had as roommates.

There was a Halloween extravaganza advertised in Ringer Park. I didn't end up going.

As Moving Day approached, the front entryway of our apartment complex developed these signs for Ceasar's Moving Company stacked one on top of each other. For emphasis.

The high school behind Ringer Park advertises its wares and cautions delinquents all in one breath.

Who you gonna call?

GHOST BUSTERS!

I may or may not have seen this vehicle while driving to go get frozen yogurt. It may or may not have made my night.

A farewell feast

One day, Pete left us to go to California. Luckily, before he left, we had a feast to see him off.

Before we ate, we took a family photo.

There were ants (but not in our food).

And Katie showed us how it's done.

We'll miss you, Pete.

Palin/Tea Party Rally

It probably shouldn't make me so happy, but for some reason it does.  I would say there were equal parts Tea Party people, assorted opposition groups/protesters, and people just there for a good time.  I'm posting three pictures, one to represent each group.

Younger Siblings Doing DDR

...because it is really amazing to watch when they do it at the highest level.

A blur of motion.

Transparent right foot.

*It is unfortunate that that carpet at my parents' house is so busy of a pattern... I think it detracts from the images.  Ah well.
